Krish Jayachandran, Ph.D.
Associate Professor, SERC (Soil Microbiology)
Dr. Jayachandran’s expertise is in the area of soil microbiology. His research focuses on nutrient cycling, primarily phosphorus, in wetlands (the Everglades) and agricultural systems, defining soil quality in relation to sustainable agriculture, physiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, and biological interactions of Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi, microbial diversity and activity in surface and subsurface soils, pesticide degradation, transport, and potential groundwater contamination. Dr. Jayachandran’s group is also active in the development of bioremediation of plant - microbe based systems to clean up contaminated soils and water.
